The Process:
- You place your order on GroSpace using the button at the bottom of this page. You will be routed to our shop on GroSpace.
- You receive an invoice.
- If you agree with the Invoice you must confirm with a full payment. Remember to use your order number as a reference.
Payment Confirmation:
Once we receive the Proof of payment the setting process begins. Your order status on GroSpace will change from “On Hold” to “Processing“
Placement:
Chicks are placed into the commercial rearing coops on the hatch date. The delivery date will be given to you based on availability and space. If you require it on a specific date kindly advise in the order notes section and one of our market agents will contact you with an answer based on the availability and space.
Feed:
The Day Old Chicks(DOC’s) are reared on premium high performance feed which is specific to each commercial breed. Your farm manager should consider this when the Point of Lay(POL) hens are transferred to your farm.
Weening:
It is important to consider a weening period whereby the hens are fed a balanced mix of the layer mash that you will be using along with the developer feed that they are fed in the last few weeks leading up to POL.
Delivery:
Most deliveries are +/- 147 days after payment. Delivery should be booked in advance along with the Goods in Transit insurance which we handle on your behalf.

This extra info outlines the off-take arrangements for eggs and layer chickens that are on offer as well as livestock insurance and a supply partnership arrangement.
Insurance on the Hens:
Hens can be insured whilst on your farm for the duration of their lifespan for an upfront premium of 2-3% annually subject to the assessor’s audit of your farm. This insurance will cover certain diseases which will be communicated to you during the assessment process.
Offtake on Eggs:
An offtake contract on the eggs can be arranged at the wholesale market rate for eggs on the GroSpace market platform.
Offtake on Culls:
Culls can be sold back to GroChick at a fixed price when you place your order for fresh POL hens on GroSpace. This transaction will be treated as a credit. Your GroSpace wallet will be credited with the agreed value.
Strategic partnership:
When you choose to engage in our rearing program we can consider registering your farm as a GroChick supply partner whereby we issue the chickens at a reduced rate in exchange for equity in your poultry business. This option is available to existing supply partners who have consistently supplied eggs on a regular schedule according to a set of standards provided by GroChick. Consider supplying your eggs to GroChick over a 12 month period. Your flock age and production efficiency will be taken into account when your application is considered.
